Lancaster Canal Trust trip Boat 'Waterwitch' coming under Crooklands Bridge (no 166). This trip boat runs every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from the beginning of May until the end of September between 11am and 4pm. It is free, but we appreciate donations towards the trusts work.
This is how Waterwitch looks from inside.

Waterwitch has come under bridge 166 and is approaching our landing stage at the Stables. These stables were for the horses working the gunpowder tramway - not the packet boats.

On a wet day (30th April 2002) the trust, who had acquired funding for the dredging of the canal towards the motorway - thus extending the length of canal on which Waterwitch can sail, had the grand opening of this extended stretch of navigable canal

Lancaster Canal Trust has placed an information plaque at Wakefields Wharf (where the gunpowder was transhipped) and this was it's official unveiling

Waterwitch has turned in the winding hole by the M6 and is returning under Millness bridge ( No 164) towards the stables.
