The March working party will take place on Sun 12th March. The weather forecast looks reasonable and all are welcome!
The Trust will be dealing with clearance of vegetation in the Stainton to Sellet Hall section in readiness for the summer’s WRG camps (21-28th July & 28th July - 4th August). There’s a lot of stuff to clear up and burn following last month's tree felling, and now the weather is a bit warmer we will do some lime pointing on the bridge stonework. All this is preparatory work to enable the summer WRG camps to get going at full speed.
Meet at Millness yard (Grid ref. SD 537830) at 9.30am to collect equipment and materials. For those of you who don’t know Millness Yard, it’s on A65, about 3/4 mile from M6 junction 36, heading north towards Crooklands & Kendal, immediately north of where A65 crosses under M6.
Alternatively, meet at Stainton Bridge (Grid ref. SD 520854). at 10am.
Please wear suitable clothing to suit the weather conditions and stout footwear, and bring a hot drink and a packed lunch. Suitable personal protective equipment and safety briefing will be provided. If you have any tools for scrub clearing such as secateurs, loppers, bow saws, etc, feel free to bring your own although the Trust can provide some as well.
