Boat Trips On The Lancaster Canal

A trip on Waterwitch

The Lancaster Canal Trust extends a cordial invitation to visitors and local residents alike to come aboard their trip boat "Waterwitch" and enjoy a short cruise along the lovely Northern Reaches of this famous and historic waterway.

"Waterwitch" is a traditionally designed 28ft narrowboat and can accommodate 12 passengers. She is based at Crooklands bridge 5 miles south of Kendal just off the A65. The boat is crewed by a team of fully trained and certificated volunteers who are all members of the Lancaster Canal Trust.

Although the trips are entirely free we ask for donations to help further the Trust's

11:00am - 4:00pm
Approximately every 40 minutes
No booking - first come, first served.
Weather Permitting!

Trip Boat Charters

Would you like celebrate an event or give your group a trip to remember?

"Waterwitch" is available for private charter with capacity of up to 12 passengers and trips of up to one hour. Educational groups are frequently handled in multiple short trips interleaved with bankside appreciation of the canal's history and ecology. Please note that Waterwitch is an open boat and has no facilities on board, and so clothing appropriate to the weather forecast is advised.  Use the Contact Us form, or email to request further information.
